We were up in NH on a quick getaway and decided upon The Common Man because they had a great gluten free menu, which is a requirement for one of our family members. It was easy to find, there was plenty of parking and we were greeted right away. Staff poured water and our waitress ARIA brought out a basket of bread and cake for us, and also brought some gluten free bread. Furthermore in the lounge area customers can grab dips for there bread and bring it back to the table. The butter was whipped! The restaurant was attentive, the menu selection very good, and food came quickly. The pecan pie martini was so good as well. Our waitress ARIA was very attentive to my daughter, who has the gluten issue, and that made the experience wonderful. The food was fresh made and delicious-including the gluten free burger and the bill was reasonable. I mentioned a tiny almost invisible crack in my glass and they removed it from the bill, I didn't even ask, but that gesture went a long way! At the end of the meal ARIA brought over freshly made white chocolate and shaved off chunks and told us to say stop when we had enough. YUM! I definitely recommend this place for families, groups, and singles alike. Also, kudos to them for having such a great waitress! (one notable thing, it seems they offer tickets to live music on occasion... some well known names)
I had a burger which was just ok but everyone at my table absolutely loved their dish--steak, duck, stuffed chicken, cornbread app-so I probably ordered wrong. The place itself is rustic and comfortable. It's busy inside and the servers are very helpful. Great beers on tap and a self serve cheese and cracker table. It's a very welcoming restaurant. They don't take reservations.
Being a vegetarian, I was skeptical at first. But boy oh boy was the food good. Pumpkin ravioli was amazing with walnuts. They really go good on salads with nuts as well. My friends ate meat and they mentioned it to be one of their best. Thumbsup!
Bad experience from the start. Called ahead, they don't take reservations, but would put us on wait list for 6:00. Upon arrival was told we would be seated soon. Host continued to seat guests including those that arrived after us. Finally seated us after further discussion at a postage stamp size table barely big enough for one. After considerable wait, waitress said bar did not know how to make a sombrero for my wife. The manager came by shortly with her drink & comped the drinks. As I was finishing my entree I found a piece of plastic in it. Once again the manager came by & comped my meal. While the manager & waitress did their best to correct things, all we wanted was a pleasant dinner for my birthday, not this horrific experience. We will not be return guests and make no recommendations to others.
Food was great; 6 of us all enjoyed our meals immensely. Despite calling ahead we did still have to wait, but it did seem very busy. A little confusion with seating and our bill, but very nice staff and overall good service.
